Botan, their guide, eventually reveals the truth: the Earth was devastated by a massive meteorite strike. To ensure humanity's survival, the government initiated Project 7 Seeds , cryogenically freezing five teams (Spring, Summer A, Summer B, Autumn, and Winter) of seven people each, plus a guide.
