She forms an alliance with industrialist Hank Rearden, who has invented a revolutionary, ultra-light alloy called "Rearden Metal". Together, they build a high-speed rail line in Colorado—the "John Galt Line"—to service oil tycoon Ellis Wyatt's booming fields.
