On Rare Disease Day, we are pushing for visibility On Rare Disease Day, we are pushing for visibility. New York started it. Now California is moving forward with SB 1047 to count FTD diagnoses.
Thank you @senrogerniello @senbenallen @senochoabogh and @asm_irwin for your leadership. And to @theaftd for standing with families and helping drive this forward.
Because when you’re living it, this disease doesn’t feel rare. It feels urgent.
More than 63 million Americans are caregivers and More than 63 million Americans are caregivers and some don’t even realize they’ve stepped into that role.
Today we recognize them. But recognition alone isn’t enough. Caregivers need real support in healthcare, in the workplace, and in policy.
Gratitude is important. Systems are essential 💙

There are over 120 types of dementia and families There are over 120 types of dementia and families like mine are living with one of them.
Alzheimer’s is the most common form, and it’s no surprise it receives the lion’s share of attention and funding. With women making up two-thirds of those diagnosed worldwide, the urgency is real. But it’s not the only one.
Other related dementias deserve visibility too. We need the spotlight to be heard, to be counted, and to be supported in the ways that matter.
A huge thank you to @usagainstalz for continuing to include us in the broader conversation.
We’re here, and we want to be seen. 💙

FTD is a hard disease to put into words. This even FTD is a hard disease to put into words. This evening, the art told the story.
To see people living with FTD and their families be so vulnerable by sharing their experiences through art, was truly magical. This night at Christie’s was a slice of joy, a celebration, and a moment of connection we all needed.
Grateful to @christiesinc and @theaftd for making this evening possible, and to @elexmichaelson and the CNN team for taking the time to speak with the artists and help bring much-needed awareness to a disease that deserves far more understanding and support 💙 To see the full CNN clip, go to the link in my bio.

What an honor to chair FTD in the Arts with @chris What an honor to chair FTD in the Arts with @christiesinc and @theaftd.
This sold-out evening was a powerful reminder of what happens when art, community, and purpose come together.
Art created by people living with FTD and by those who love them, has a way of saying what words can’t.
What filled this room was the truth that people living with dementia are whole people, deserving of dignity and respect. By bringing this work into the light, we chip away at stigma and move closer to what truly matters - supporting those living with this disease and the caregivers who walk alongside them 💙
