The episode picks up with the four Claymores—Clare, Miria, Helen, and Deneve—facing a male Awakened Being. The creature immediately asserts its dominance by severing arm and throwing her into a deep chasm. While Clare and Helen attempt to counter-attack, they are initially overwhelmed.
