Russian Circles is a Chicago-based instrumental post-metal trio formed in late 2004 by guitarist Mike Sullivan, bassist Colin DeKuiper, and drummer Dave Turncrantz. Between 2004 and 2009, the band established itself as a cornerstone of the genre, evolving from a self-released EP to critically acclaimed full-length albums. Released through Suicide Squeeze Records , this was the first album to feature bassist Brian Cook (formerly of Botch and These Arms Are Snakes), who replaced DeKuiper in 2007.
