Following the massacre at IEP, the investigation shifts as Bob Partridge is sidelined due to his personal connection to the case. Reuel Abbott replaces him with Marty Frost, Bob’s former flame, as a "protocol" move that Bob finds suspicious. Meanwhile, Joe Turner remains in hiding at Kathy Hale’s house, where he uses her computer to investigate the conspiracy while she remains deeply skeptical of his story.
