The episode kicks off with Rudy throwing himself a surprise birthday party, leaving Jack (Leo Howard) and the rest of the gang scrambling for last-minute gifts. While Kim (Olivia Holt) impresses Rudy with a signed photograph of legendary martial artist Bobby Wasabi, Jack decides to "one-up" her by arranging for the real Bobby Wasabi to make a surprise appearance.
The surprise backfires when the international movie star—now significantly out of shape—arrives. Rudy fails to recognize his hero, leading to a physical altercation where he accidentally flips Bobby. Insulted, Bobby fires Rudy from the dojo on the spot, forcing the Sensei to take a humiliating job at to make ends meet.
