Jay is determined to attend his high school football reunion at Pebble Beach to show off his beautiful wife, Gloria, to his old buddies. However, his plans go awry when Gloria refuses to fly in a "teeny tiny" private plane. Their subsequent road trip is derailed by a massive pothole, leading to a stay at a dingy motel (which used the same set as the film Psycho ). After Jay confesses he was actually a benchwarmer and just wanted to use Gloria as a "trophy" to impress people, she decides to embrace the role, eventually agreeing to ride in a mechanic's rickety helicopter to make it to the reunion.
