Following his release from prison, "Joliet" Jake Blues and his brother Elwood attempt to raise $5,000 for their childhood orphanage within 11 days. Inspired at a church service, they decide to "re-form the band" to secure the funds legitimately.

The story of The Blues Brothers began as a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live (SNL) before evolving into the 1980 cult classic film directed by John Landis. It follows "Joliet" Jake and Elwood Blues on a "mission from God" to save their childhood orphanage.

The brothers travel throughout Chicago to reunite their bandmates, involving performances from musical legends such as Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles. Their journey is interrupted by various obstacles, including police, a scorned former fiancée, and a group of Illinois Nazis.

The band successfully plays a major gig, earning the necessary money. After a chaotic, high-speed chase, they manage to pay the tax bill for the orphanage [Facebook post 1.2.6], leading to their imprisonment and a final musical performance in jail.
