The name "Jetix" was selected because it was a unique word that implied action and was easily pronounceable across the 18 different languages the brand served.
Between 2004 and 2005, Jetix systematically replaced the international Fox Kids channels following Disney's acquisition of Fox Family Worldwide.
Created as a joint alliance between ABC Cable Networks, Fox Kids Europe, and Fox Kids Latin America. It first debuted as a block on Toon Disney in the U.S. on February 14, 2004.
